You can hear crickets on here!

Yes folks, it has been a while, a long while since I have updated this blog.  I have to be honest with you, blog.com has not thrilled us.  They haven’t worked very consistantly, their support is lacking (non-existant actually), and have you seen the blog lately?  Geez louise, what is up with that?  I think it was the last straw.  You can now find us here:  http://mcgovernville.blogspot.com/
but WAIT!  You have to be invited in order to view it.  If you haven’t been already invited, don’t be insulted.  Please email us and let us know, we may not realize it.  Either leave us a comment or email us and let us know.  If you have the password to the blog you are reading now, then you are obviuosly loved by us and we would LOVE to invite you over to our new blog.

Definitly NOT My Idea

Just for the record, I have never asked my older children to change a diaper.  Ever.  Nor will I.  Ever

This morning Kenniston came into the living room and informed me that Ruby was her baby and I was the babysitter.  I told her (in a jokingly manner) that her baby needed a diaper change.  So what did my darling daughter do?  She walked over to the basket of diapers and grabbed the wipes and a diaper.  As she proceeded to take off Ruby’s diaper Vincent jumped in to help.

The two of them did a great job.  Ruby was very patient.  She even laid still as the big kids opened up and tried to figure out how to get the new diaper in place.

This is where they got stumped.  And kinda gave up.  Time for the babysitter to step in.  hehe

Ruby has a great memory

Before Brian left, he made video’s of himself reading Bible stories to the kiddos.  It is a neat video complete with a menu screen and all.  While said menu screen shows thefirst few seconds of the song “I Can Only Imagine” repeats itself.  We watch the video almost everyday.

Today we walked into the house after our late afternoon walk and the song “I Can Only Imagine” was playing, but by a different artist.  Right away Ruby excitedly said “Daddy Daddy Daddy” while signing please frantically.  She thought the Daddy Bible video was playing.  I felt so bad because it wasn’t playing, but I was so proud of her for recognizing the song!

All of our kids

Don’t mind the messy wall (that a sweet 3 year old decided to um decorate).  The dishes are paper (sorry mother earth) and the cups don’t match (most are dirty or in the dishwasher).  Seeing all 4 of our kids sitting together in harmony eating dinner is so sweet.  I am working more on contentment and less on perfection and boy DOES IT FEEL GOOD!  ahhh, I will sit back and eat my mac and cheese with veggies and enjoy this moment.

Sleeping with Baby Jesus again {litterally}

This little girl (and her Mommy and big brother) are all sleeping happily tonight.  Baby Jesus is back in her arms.  Her trusty companion has been found and life can go on.  We are all doing better today!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!

JESUS HAS BEEN FOUND!!

Kenniston had stuffed him in a compartment/pocket between her carseat and the trunk.  It was a spot that I hadn’t thought to check because it is a weird spot and honestly I thought it hadn’t made it to the van.  I was absolutely relieved when we got in the van today (after buying a similar replacement bear) and I heard a sweet little girl shout “There’s my Baby Jesus!!!”  I hugged Kenniston and her pink bear!  Vincent then grabbed the bear and hugged it in excitement, it was so sweet.  Phew, that was quite the scare!  I bet Mamaw had no idea just how loved that sweet little bear would be when she bought it for Kenniston many years ago.  Needless to say I am going to put a tag of somesort on the bear with our phone number on it!

*Somewhat* Wordless Wednesday

not many words

just tears

this sweet Baby Jesus went missing at the park today

Despite searching for almost 45 minutes, all we have left are pictures from today’s park trip

Sweet Baby Jesus, you have been loved by Kenniston since the begining of last year.  You will be missed by many.  Kennisston loved you dearly and has been asking for you tonight.  I had to fight back tears as I tucked her in.

MckMamma did something a little different today so I played along as well!

Not My Child MONDAY

My 1 year old daughter did not riffle through the pile of laundry {that doesn’t exsist} on my couch to find her big brother’s underwear.  Nope!  And once she did not find a pair of underwear she certainly did not put them on her head and crawl/walk around with them.  No, and I wouldn’t have evidence of it either.

My 3 year old daughter definitly did not get into my friend’s son’s fabric markers (read: does not wash off!) during a bbq recently.  She also did not color all over herself and her shoes with the markers that she did not find.

My twin babies (er 1 year olds) did not unload a box of wipes while giggling.  Even if they I had I would never pick them up off of my living room floor and put them back in the box, no, that would be just dirty!

Jack, you know, the 1 year old baby, did not find his older sister’s Croc while I was in the bathroom and proceed chew the heck out of it in hopes of getting some relief from teething pain.  He knows better than that and would never do that!

While at Forza after our bike ride, my 5 year old son definitly did not throw a huge (of epic proportions!) conniption fit because his gelato did not have a spoon in it (yet).  Nope, he did not yell, jump around spastically and act like a 2 year old in public.  Not my little angel.  His Mommy did not take away the privledge of said gelato after the melt down (did not) happened.

Words I forgot to say…

but Ruby says them.
Ok ok ok, I forgot to mention a few (or a lot) of words that Ruby says.  Words like slimey, dinosaur, gentle, hippo, fish, balloon, walk, and maybe a few others that I have failed to jot down because, let’s face it, after chasing around 4 kids and caring for our daily life, I don’t always remember.  Besides, now days it seems like she repeats most of what we say anyway.  Actually it seems like she repeats most of what Vincent says.  She likes that big brother of hers.
