Quick Recap of our last week or so…

lots of tears
some yelling (blushing)
Kenniston sleeping in pack n play in big kids room
Kenniston and Vincent awake until 10pm
Kenniston and Vincent in bed no later than 8:30pm most nights
(more tears)
said good bye to Aunt Tonya
talked to Brian on the phone once
chatted with him twice
both babies have a nasty cold
big kids have had nasty pooooos
dinner is usually at 6:30, this past week it has creeped closer to the 8 o’clock hour
toilet bowl cleaner spilled on the carpet, now there is a hole
note to self, NEVER NEVER buy toilet bowl cleaner at the dollar store, even if I don’t have time for one more stop after running an errand next to the dollar store…just run into Target (with all the kids) and buy the Method brand cleaner that we normally buy
both twins sit up very nicely now
neither twin can be left on the bed any more, Ruby gave me a scare
I got to sleep until 9am on Saturday, I only woke up because two older kids were in the hallway giggling
Vincent asked to be consoled by Daddy twice, the second time when I offered to console him he told me he didn’t like me.
His comment broke my heart
Today when I told him we weren’t going to Toys R Us (he saw a sign for it as we drove by) he told me that I needed to “go to work and have someone else come to watch them so they could take him to Toys R Us.”
I am embarrased to admit that earlier this week when he told me that he didn’t like me (after he was disciplined for hitting his sister) I told him I would drop him off at another Mommy’s house if he wanted me to.  He told me that he liked me “better.” My answer to that was “ok, that is fine,” but secretly I was smiling inside.
I prayed a lot. I still don’t know why I have 4 kids and for weeks, and soon months on end I will be bascially raising them all by myself.  I still have no idea how I will be Mommy and Daddy all in one.  Brian is fun-play-with-you-guy while Mommy is seceretly-get-everything-done and educate-the-kids person.
ok, make that three nights of chatting with Brian…gotta run

I will be back with a picture tomorrow.  It will be a game of sorts… a game callead “what happened in this picture?” It will be good fun, it is after all a picture from my life this week, lol.

I finally got the picture I wanted!

I set up the camera and backdrop and had Aunt Tonya take the picture I have wanted practically since the day the twins were born.  I am soooo darn excited to finally have this picture!

Joy. Laughter. Happiness. Childhood.

I just (jokingly) told a good friend of mine who is trying to conceive that it isn’t too late.  She could stop trying to conceive, thus forgoing her chance at parenthood, however the more I think of it, the more I think it would rob her of one of life’s greatest joys (the other top two would be knowing Christ and, of course, marraige).  I have to be short and sweet tonight (ok, just short, but being sweet is nice so I will do that as well) but I wanted to leave you with a visual of what it has been like with our visitors:

A story I forgot to mention about Vincent.

So Saturday night was the worse night yet, hands down.  The twins woke up for good sometime around 7:00am and I tried very hard to ignore their silly squeals and general noises because by this point I had only slept around an hour and a half (no joke).  I finally got out of bed around 8:00 and surprise surprise, the twins were ready for a nap by 8:30.  I put them down.
I got the big kids set up with breakfast on their little table and turned on the TV (yup, not going to deny it!). I then laid on the couch in hopes of getting some more shut eye before absolutely having to start my day.  Just before 9:00 I heard Jack’s cries through the monitor, after only 20 minutes of napping.  I was too tired to be upset (or honestly even care at this point). I asked Vincent to turn off the monitor.  He did and I drifted in and out of sleep for a few more minutes, until Vincent came up to me and told me “Mommy, I put Jack’s pacifier back in his mouth and he went back to sleep.” I was half asleep, but still so thankful and proud of this little boy.  What an amazing kiddo I have.  Seriously I am so thankful for him.  God gave me an amazing son.  I have had some frustrating moments in these last 4 years, but I am really starting to see what an amazing person he is molding into.

So I am a wee bit excited tonight!

“Aunt” Tonya is flying in tomorrow morning!  I am so excited, not only to have a wonderful friend to hang out with (and see her adorable daughter, Brielle!), but to have help.  When Tonya came up this past April she was an amazing help.  I didn’t have ask her to help, she just did.  Our bathroom was magically clean, our kitchen taken care of and laundry folded.  It was amazing.  Now I am more able to keep up with things around our house, however, help is always much appreciated…not to mention the sleep I hope to get now that someone will be here to help out with the other kids.
Tonya and I met when we lived in the same building in NY.  She moved in 3 weeks before Vincent was born.  She rushed over to our house the day we came home from the hospital and stayed until my mom pushed her out at midnight.  She was a total blessing during that year. As you may remember, Brian was deployed the entire first year (minus 2 weeks) of Vincent’s life.
While she may not be blood related, she is still “Aunt” Tonya and we are all excited to have her come tomorrow!

Twofer Tuesday

My friend Mashel does a neat thing on her blog called Twofer Tuesday so I thought I would try it out today…
It doesn’t have to been twins, but rather anything in 2s.

Enjoy!
